Description
A Victorian, silver gilt lined, Silver Vesta novelty match holder and striker in the form of an inverted Top Hat; made in London 1881-2 by Thomas Johnson II; retailed by Bowler & Jones, 71 Piccadilly (inscription on interior). This jewellery firm went into liquidation in 1883.
Inscribed on exterior: 1st January 1882.
